SNORKELING

Description

This is an absolutely amazing unforgettable experience, the reef in eilat is an amazing place for snorkeling, you can see all types of coral and lots of tropical fish like clownfish, zebra fish, stick fish and parrot fish. If you get lucky you might even see an octopus!

 

Seeing this amazing reef is easy all you need to do is put on a pair of goggles and stick your head under the water with or without a snorkel.

to go snorkeling you can either go to the official national park where they'll provide the snorkel plus they have bathrooms, however it can also be crowded there and you have to pay admission unless you have a pass

or you can choose to bring your own equipment and go out to the beach on your own our favorites are are the princess beach - where there is a bridge out into the water like the national park - we were there after sukkos and it was empty, and snuba beach.

you can purchase goggles and a snorkel in most supermarkets in eilat.

Eilat is also warm enough that you can go in most of the winter.

Getting there

Stay on the 90 south to taba.

 

There are many beaches on the road to taba the national park has big flags and signs, don't confuse it with the underwater observatory which is something else.

The princess beach is the last beach before the Egyptian border it's across the street from from the isrotel princess (closed)

 

 from Jerusalem it's 3 and a half to 4 hours.
