GERIZIM

Description

Har Gerizim is the site where Joshua built an altar from the 12 stones taken from the Jordan river and blessed the Jewish people.

 

At the mount Gerizim national park you can take a tour and discover these ancient sites, you can also watch a video all about ancient Samaritan tradition. the Samaritans are a group of people who live on the mountain since the first temple period they follow only the written torah and believe that this place is the temple mountain they have a temple here and bring a korban pesach!

 

You can also see the city of shechem that lies in the valley below including the kever of yosef.

Mount Gerizim is an official national park and costs 22 NIS per adult and 10 NIS per kid unless you have a pass

Getting there

 

Har Gerizim is situated right near Shechem. you get there by taking the 60 north until Har brakha
