Description

Nachal salvadora is an easy and short hike just an hour away from Jerusalem, it has ladders, breathtaking views and a lot of it is shady, plus the best part is you'll probably be the only one there!

the hike is short and you can do it in only an hour (although you can take much more).

if going in the summer i would recommend going towards the end of the day the first part involves climbing up hill and can get very hot, don't worry though, the rest will be in a shady canyon!

this hike is perfect for anyone who can climb a ladder (or be helped on one)

Getting there

Just travel south on route 90. the location will be on your right there is a small sign and parking is in a small unpaved area just off the road.

It would be recommended to use waze since it can be easy to miss

Trail

start off on the blue trail going up the mountain and go until you reach the green trail on the right which goes down in to the canyon.

you'll see the blue trail continues to the left you can follow it if you want to enjoy the gorgeous views of the dead sea (or let the kids go alone) but know that it ends in a dead end and either way you'll have to come back to the green.

Tip: you can leave your knapsacks over there and pick them up when you get back.

The green trail is a lot of fun it goes through the canyon and it involves climbing down ladders. when you get to the end there's a ladder you have to climb which will take you back to the car.  Before going up the ladder at the end you can go in the tunnel that goes under the road to see more dead sea views.
